The German-Swiss International School (DSIS) is one of the leading international schools in Hong Kong, offering high-quality, holistic education to a multinational student body of approximately 1,300 students and 240 teachers and staff.
The school is divided into two branches, the German and the English, each of which leads to the German International Abitur as well as I/GCSE and IBDP qualifications.
For the primary school (German and English International Branch) we are looking for a local teacher as of the beginning of the school year 2025/2026
CREATIVITY HUB LEADER
The Creativity Hub Leader works to create a space where students can engage in innovative, creative learning experiences that enrich their learning in the English and German primary curriculum. Working with the Heads of Department (EPD & GPD), he/she creates a strategic action plan for the development of the Creativity Hub and integration into the curriculum, which sets the focus and priorities for the coming year.
TASKS
Development and management of the Creativity Hub
- Planning, preparation and implementation of the vision for the further development of the Creativity Hub.
- Managing the Creativity Hub's annual budget.
- Procurement of materials for the Creativity Hub to meet the needs of students and teachers in EPD and GPD.
- Organizing the daily operation and use of the Creativity Hub, including planning, maintenance and resource management.
- Ensuring that all equipment is used safely and appropriately.
Financial support
- Develop and promote the Creativity Hub's vision to enrich learning through problem solving, design thinking and hands-on experiences.
- Developing challenging and engaging creative programming that supports, enriches learning and meets curriculum objectives for EPD and GPD students.
- Joint planning and implementation of teaching units with teachers in EPD and GPD to promote problem solving, design thinking and practical learning experiences.
- Offer ECAs that leverage the learning experiences available in the Creativity Hub.
- Teaching pupils aged 6 to 11 years.
Anforderungsprofil:
What we need and what we are looking for
- Teacher training (PGCE, State Examination or equivalent) in primary education.
- At least 5 years of teaching experience in a primary school.
- Excellent English skills with solid written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of German is desirable.
- Detailed knowledge of relevant aspects of the English and German primary school curriculum.
- Solid specialist knowledge in relevant subject areas.
- Experience teaching conceptual inquiry and design processes.
- Clear understanding of current educational topics, theory and practice.
- Experience in teamwork.
- Cultural sensitivity, tolerance and patience
- Positive work ethics and proactivity.
- Experience in an international context is desirable
